What is Excise Product Registration?

Excise Product Registration is the mandatory process of declaring and registering each excisable item with the FTA through the EmaraTax portal. Each product receives a unique identifier (UID) and must be approved before being released into the UAE market.

This step is required for goods such as:

Tobacco and tobacco products
Carbonated beverages
Energy drinks
Electronic smoking devices and accessories
Sweetened beverages

The FTA uses this registration to track excise tax collection, ensure correct labeling, and monitor compliance.
